BORDERLAND MISSIONS
PASTOR GREG RANGEL
Borderland Calvary Chapel, 299 E. Heywood St., San Benito Texas 78586 Ph. (956) 399-3534 Fax (956) 399-1542
Pastor Greg Rangel was born in
Michoacan Mexico. He came to
know Jesus as his Lord and
Savior in December of 1991after
hearing the gospel for the very
first time.

After hearing the gospel, and
immediately after receiving

Jesus as his Lord and Savior,
Greg knew that the Lord called
him into the ministry.
Favorite Passage:
"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven
and earth is named. That He would grant you,
according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened
with might by his Spirit in the inner man. Tha Christ
may dwell in you hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted
and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with
all saints what is the breadth, and length, and epth, and
height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the
fulness of God
" Ephesians 3:14-19
Upon his instant conversion, Greg began to share the gospel with his wife Maria,
to which she thought he had gone crazy. And as Pastor Greg states, “she began
to get so upset because of the things she had heard. And as Maria states in her
own words, ‘every time that he shared the gospel with me I would get so upset. I
had been raised in the Catholic Church and everything that Greg shared with me
was not what I had been taught by tradition.” One month later, Maria also received
the Lord Jesus after hearing a gospel message from Pastor Raul Ries from
Calvary Chapel of Diamond Bar in Southern California.

Since the first day of his conversion, Pastor Greg began to dedicate much time (8
to 12 hours a day) to the study of the Word since his work permitted it. And as
Pastor Greg states, “the Lord allowed me to be a security officer and work much
overtime, not only to come to know Him personally, but also to study His Word.”
Soon Pastor Greg began to get involved with different ministries.

After being a lay pastor for years, Pastor Greg went on staff at Calvary Chapel of
Costa Mesa as an Assistant Pastor. He served under Pastor Chuck Smith. He
was also the Senior Pastor of the Spanish Fellowship of Calvary Chapel of Costa
Mesa.

While at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, Pastor Greg taught Apologetics and
Counter Cult classes at the extension campus of Calvary Chapel Bible College.
He has also traveled internationally speaking at various conferences.

Pastor Greg is also the founder and editor of a Spanish magazine titled “Revista
Edificacion,” (Edification Magazine). This magazine has been distributed
throughout Latin America. Pastor Greg’s studies have also been heard
throughout Southern California, Oregon, and Texas. While in Southern California,
Pastor Greg also hosted a live Apologetics radio program called “¿Qué Dice La
Biblia?” (What Does the Bible Say?). This program was heard throughout
Southern California and in the Dominican Republic.

In September of 2004, Pastor Greg and his family (wife Maria, son Greg Anthony,
daughters Ericka Marie, Ana Elizabeth, and Vivianna Kaylee) moved from
Southern California to beautiful San Antonio Texas where he began a church by
the name of Edification Bible Church.

In July of 2008, the Lord called Pastor Greg to the Rio Grand Valley where he
became the Senior Pastor of Borderland Calvary Chapel.
